About the product
Andine is a web platform for insurance and medical professionals to upload and securely organize receipts. It uses OCR to automatically extract and save the relevant information, regardless of the receipt's design.
Responsibilities
Working within a lean 2-3 person engineering team at an early-stage startup, designed and implemented scalable, secure back-end architectures in Django, built RESTful APIs for client-server communication, and optimized databases to support critical web-page functionality. Also configured and integrated authentication and authorization systems based on OAuth 2.0 and OIDC, managing access and refresh tokens in line with modern security standards and best practices. Development continued through MVP completion, though the product's public launch is still pending on the product owner's side.
Key achievement
Independently designed, built, and optimized an Optical Character Recognition (OCR) web application, one of the product's central features, using JavaScript, Python, and Tesseract.
